Sunday sketching sessions

What I thought this was a photography tips website?

Hehe well it is actually, but there is more than just giving tips.

I find photography to be a creative outlet for me and I was inspired to write this post after seeing the below quote which really does sum up why I starting sketching

So I thought I would share it to inspire you to follow your creative passions

I can not draw, never have been able to and I worked out today after drawing over the last few weeks that it was my approach that was wrong!

I was expecting to be a master and was disappointed when I was not

Drawing inspiration

What I learnt about myself is that my style in business, life and art is the same

I have always been a big picture person, I don’t like getting down in the detail, I am a dreamer, a change agent.

When I took this approach to drawing, I stopped trying to draw what was in front of me perfectly and what I did instead was draw what I felt and saw in my mind

And let out the approach that I have always used in life, big picture, less detail

The picture below is from last weekend capturing the garden that inspires me

But as you can see, it was slow going and I admit, a little frustrating when it was not looking like what I saw

The next picture below was taken this weekend when I just stopped over thinking it and just let it flow

Tree Sketch 2

And that’s when I started enjoying drawing 🙂

Hope you had a great weekend!
