Why Gerroa is Heaven on Earth

I will let you in on a secret, there is a place just over an hour south of Sydney that has one of the most magical seascapes in the world.

A tiny village, called Gerroa. It’s situated on the North side of the famous Seven Mile Beach.

Which also has the added attraction of where Sir Charles Kingsford Smith undertook his historic first commercial flight to New Zealand in 1933

It was last Summer that I fell in love with it again. For over 3 hours we played and photographed until dark. We were the ONLY people there and it was truly wondrous

Where is your escape?

Have you found a place  that you can still have to yourself so close to a major city?

Apologies to the locals, but it was too good a secret to keep 🙂

  1. My wife has family there. It has some of the best seascapes ever. I’ve walked the Beach for 30 mins in Winter and saw no-one else except a few hard core surfies.

    • Hi Mike! I found Gerroa about 8 years ago on the recommendation of a travel magazine which also said the only restaurant there was headed by a Sydney 5 star chef. He didn’t disappoint in fact they could cater to anything you desired (within reason!)
What a wonderful little secret it is! I could definitely live there and the scenery is spectacular. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
